The Rowan Tree

Rose gold-plated, sterling silver and aluminium wire tree with individually-selected embellishments: baroque and cultured pearls; chrome leaves and both gold-plated and sterling silver beads.

Sometimes it’s hard to let pieces go, until you see your work reflected in the face of its new owner: then their joy makes it easy to detach. “Parting is such sweet sorrow”…

B Your Self / Self-worth

Finished bespoke piece for a special person: a golden Shri Ganesha stands guard, protecting ten pearls of self and individual gems that symbolise gems of experience. Each crag cradles a jewel: garnet, rose quartz, white jade, amethyst and mother of pearl; with a cubic zirconia star, crystal heart, sterling silver sphere, and teardrops in polished green jade, cut amethyst, cut ruby, cut sapphire and cabochon emerald.

Goddess of the Storm

Aluminium mesh, stainless steel and glass rain with woven brass mesh lightning bolt; but by shining the spotlight up from the base, you can see the goddess of lightning, Shri Vishnumaya, in profile in the “sky”.

No 8, Bringing Us Together

New piece for an Arts Centre in Worcestershire: bringing eight elements together: aluminium (panels, mesh, wire); titanium mesh; stainless steel (circles); sterling silver (patinated squares, tiny hoops and solid pellets of 100% recycled silver); marble; velvet; sparkle setting spray; and of course a single pearl (freshwater grey baroque).

Looking for the hidden M will be tricky on this one.

Cuttlefish (Finding Nemo)

New foray into carving a plinth: standing tall at 830mm x 420mm wide, this piece continues the commentary on endangered seas and species. Inspired by Sepia Aparma, the Giant Australian Cuttlefish, this is fine woven copper on 7mm copper sheet stand and a carved Maltese limestone plinth. In the shadows you can find Nemo on the base; on the reverse side, more fish and the heart of the ocean reside.

Meet Melly the Jellyfish 🪼 (standing): jelly mould, champagne flute, bubble wrap and wire with a seed pearl and lapis lazuli strand.

New Collection! Interaction Art

Detached

An 8 piece aluminium sheeting interaction sculpture that can be rearranged to suit and soothe. Standing on a double slate and black velvet base.

Dream-maker

Stainless steel and aluminium mesh with hot dipped galvanised 13mm square wiremesh on wjite-coated iron frame; with antique sterling silver strip, a single seed pearl and a bed of separated galvanised aluminium sheet. Sleeping girl and dog still under construction.

The use of chiaroscuro (dramatic light and dark) here is mesmerizing in the shadows as you are falling asleep. I love this piece!

Monolithic: acrylic and sparkle varnish spray on clay, with sterling silver circle link, mother of pearl, seed pearl and 12mm gray baroque pearl.

Sidelined

18th February 2024: galvanized separated aluminum sheet with sterling silver back hackles and sterling silver wire knot meets a copper mesh attack with adhesive copper tape. A single pink-grey baroque freshwater pearl is sidelined.
